My 3 Favorite Hikes in Davis County, UT

Without question, the best thing about living in Utah is the accessibility and splendor of the outdoors. I've spent the past few months exploring the incredible hiking trails nestled in the canyons of beautiful Davis County, Utah. Here's 3 that are not to be missed:

Deuel Creek

Just up the canyon from Centerville, Deuel Creek Trail offers waterfalls, natural waterslides, a rope swing, and lots of shade during the hot summer months. At Deuel Creek, you can hike up one side of the creek and then back down the other side, with an option to begin at the South or North trailhead. The 2.9-mile loop is dotted with quaint bridges crossing over the picturesque creek many times. The trail is fairly easy, but requires a small section of steep rock climbing.

Farmington Creek

This beautiful 4-mile round-trip hike is worth the impressive 20-foot waterfall at the top. You'll also find some interesting old abandoned cars along the path. Although we've never had an encounter, snake spotting is frequent in the area. Wear long pants and keep the dog on the leash! This trail heavily trafficked is moderately difficult with a few steep climbs.

Bonneville Shoreline

If you hike in Utah, you've mostly likely encountered the the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. The trail runs 100 miles along the Wasatch Front roughly following the shoreline of the ancient Lake Bonneville. We enjoy catching the trail at Tunnel Springs Park and heading south over the mountain to enjoy the our favorite view of Salt Lake Valley. This section of the trail has NO SHADE, so it's best to explore early in the day or at sunset. With lots of adjoining trails, we have yet to explore a small fraction of the adventures this trail provides. Hike can be as long and difficult, or short and easy as you desire.

Happy Hiking! #HikeMore #HikeUtah
